Is the park and lodge open year-round?

The resort is open year-round; however, areas such as golf course, beach and outdoor pool are open seasonally. Peak season runs from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

What kind of weather should I expect?

Winter days are chilly with temperatures ranging from 15° to 30°F. Evenings are much colder, staying in the single digits and teens, but rarely ever dropping below 0°F.

The early spring months are similar to winter, with the same likelihood of storms. The late spring temperatures rise to the 70s during the day and evening temperatures drop to approximately 30° to 45°F. We recommend you pack warmly for both seasons, although lighter wear will suffice for late spring.

The summer months bring long hot days averaging 85°F, which is ideal weather to experience the many activities at Deer Creek. Enjoy a summer evening stroll through the park, with night temperatures in 60s.

Fall brings a burst of brilliant color and the early months are comfortably crisp, with daytime temperatures ranging from 60° to 70°F and evenings in the 50s.

Is there cell phone service?

Cell phone service is available for most providers; however, we can’t guarantee the signal strength.

Is there a business center?

Besides offering ample meeting space, we also provide a business center with high-speed Internet and e-mail services, along with package shipping, copy and facsimile services. Upon check-in please visit the front desk for the location of our business services.

Can Deer Creek accommodate large groups?

Deer Creek Conference Center is a natural choice for group gatherings of any kind. The beauty of Deer Creek, with ample space for everything from small meetings to full-scale conferences, makes it perfect for group experiences. Our staff is experienced and available to assist you in planning an extraordinary day.

Are there ADA compliant rooms available at Deer Creek?

Deer Creek Lodge offers 8 accessible lodge rooms (all with roll-in showers) and 3 accessible cottages. These cannot currently be reserved online. Please call Central Reservations for additional details and availability.

Can I check into my room or cottage early?

Although we try to accommodate your requests for an early check-in, it’s not always possible, depending on how full the resort or cottages were the night before and how quickly our guests check out in the morning. Our reservation center will be happy to note a request for early check-in on your reservation; however, we cannot guarantee such requests. It’s a good idea to call the resort the evening before or the morning of your arrival to see if they can give you an idea of how early you can check in.

Can I check out of my room or cottage late?

We’re glad you want to linger at our park for a while! As long as the resort is not sold out and we do not need your room, an extra hour for check-out is allowed. We do ask you to be considerate of guests checking in behind you. Please inquire with the front desk the morning of your departure to see if a late check-out is possible.

Is there an entrance fee to enter the park?

There is no fee to enter Deer Creek State Park.

How far in advance can I make lodging reservations?

We offer reservations up to 12 months in advance of arrival.

Do you have a waitlist for room reservations?

We do not offer a waitlist for reservations.

Since you don’t have a waitlist, should I check back every day for a cancellation?

Cancellations do occur; however, they can occur at random and you may have limited success in obtaining the dates and accommodations desired. If your first choice is not available, rather than scheduling your vacation around the possibility of a cancellation, we suggest checking alternate dates instead. If you want to continue to check for cancellations, you may do so by visiting our Check Availability – Book Online page.

Why can’t I find my reservation through the website reservation system?

Currently our online reservation system will only allow modifications or cancellations to reservations initially booked on our website.

Can I cook in my room?

Cooking is not allowed in our guestrooms; however, we do allow cooking in our cottages, which come with fully equipped kitchens.

Do you offer wireless Internet access?

We do offer high-speed wireless Internet.

Can I have a pet in my room?

Deer Creek Lodge has limited cottages that are designated “pet friendly.” If you plan on bringing your pet, please advise the reservation agent when making your reservation at 1-800-AT-A-PARK (282-7275) prior to your arrival so that they can make arrangements for you. Pets are not permitted in any resort rooms or cottages not designated at “pet friendly.” All assistance dogs for visually or hearing impaired or orthopedically challenged individuals are permitted in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1991.

Do I need dining room reservations?

Reservations are not required.
